Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for trauma offers an attachment-based, experiential, and systemic framework that provides both a map and a method for meaningful transformation.
Why EFT for Trauma Matters
Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) gives therapists a non-pathologizing lens through which to understand distress. Instead of focusing on deficits, EFIT views trauma responses as survival strategies born of disrupted attachment. With this compassionate framework, clinicians can help clients regulate emotions, access vulnerability, and move toward secure connection and resilience.
A Proven Model with Practical Tools
Dr. Leanne Campbell is an internationally recognized EFT trainer, bringing decades of clinical expertise to this training. She is the co-author with the late Dr. Sue Johnson of A Primer for Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) (2022) and the forthcoming EFT for Trauma volume. Through didactic teaching, real client video sessions, and case commentary, Leanne demonstrates how the EFIT Tango—a five-move intervention sequence—creates corrective emotional experiences that foster growth session by session.
Therapists will learn how to:
Frame trauma within an attachment perspective
Pace interventions safely and effectively
Apply the EFIT Tango to create change moments
Shape new patterns of emotional regulation and interpersonal engagement
What You’ll Gain
Whether you are new to using EFT for trauma or an experienced clinician, this training provides:
A clear roadmap through the three stages of EFIT, from stabilization to transformation
Tools for balancing deep emotional processing with client safety
Strategies to strengthen therapeutic alliances and foster post-traumatic growth
With Dr. Campbell’s guidance, you will leave with practical interventions you can immediately integrate into your clinical work. These new tools will allow you to help clients move out of the grip of trauma and into lasting resilience. This is more than a skills workshop. It’s an opportunity to deepen your therapeutic presence, expand your clinical toolkit, and join a community of practitioners committed to transforming trauma through the power of attachment and emotion.
